  • Why choose Thrive?
Thrive prides itself on being a family. As part of that family, you can expect a personalized experience in our one on one care environment. Your experience begins with a meeting with a physical therapist - there, they discuss strengths, weaknesses, and goals for your rehabilitation. This defines your experience. Every single staff member cares deeply about you, wants to help you achieve your goals for PT, and gives a holistic approach to exercises that blends functional medicine and practical lifestyle requirements to maintain these changes after you finish PT. This is what sets Thrive apart from other practices - it’s a PT experience catered to you, in an environment you will enjoy, and will help you establish and maintain health and fitness standards long after your time in PT.
  • What are the benefits of seeing a Physical Therapist?

  • My prescription has another clinic name on it, can I use it at Thrive?
Yes you can! Thrive Rehabilitation believes in open access to medical treatment and patient advocacy. If you have a valid prescription, that "script" allows you to choose where YOU would like to go. We accept valid prescriptions referred from any treating doctor, with any companies logo on it. You have a choice! We accept most insurances and give you a free insurance verification to let you know your benefits.
  • My doctor wants me to go to their therapy clinic, do I have a choice?
Yes you have a choice. As a patient you are allowed to choose where to get your physical therapy treatment. As a new patient we offer FREE consultations to see if Thrive is right for you. We have an open conversation about how your injury is affecting you and how we can help. We can then call your doctor and explain why we are different, and how we can help your medical treatment while under their care. We can speak to you and your doctor together, if you would like, to make sure everyone is agreeable. Once you choose Thrive Rehab we will then start the initial evaluation and get you started on your road to success.
  • How can my therapist help me achieve my goals?
Improving Mobility and Motion: Motion is essential to your quality of life. Whether it is an everyday task such as emptying the dishwasher, a sports activity like golf, or an essential activity such as performing their job, our team can help you experience improved mobility and function. Our physical therapist also helps to prevent injuries and promote a healthy lifestyle by improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Providing a Conservative Option to Surgery: While surgery can be the best course of treatment for certain diagnoses, there is evidence to indicate that physical therapists can offer an alternative. Considering conservative options to surgery is the start of quality care. Physical therapy is one of these options for many individuals. When there is a need for surgery, our physical therapist can enhance the outcome both before and after surgery. Additionally, for those individuals whose health conditions prevent surgery from being an option, Thrive can be the best alternative in helping them improve or maintain the quality of your life. Managing Pain Effectively Without Long-Term Use of Medication: Thrive's physical therapist can help patients control pain, often reducing the need for long-term use of medications. Studies reveal that individuals who receive physical therapy experience greater improvement in function with less pain. While recognizing that medication is an essential component in the management of many acute and chronic conditions, our physical therapist can provide an alternative to the long-term use of medications for the management of pain and certain other health conditions.
  • How can a physical therapist help me?
We are always conducted extensive consumer research through surveying our patients and continuing education. We learned that our patients, are really looking for three things: improved mobility and motion, an alternative to surgery and, to reduce the need for prescription medications, when possible.
  • Do I need a prescription to come to Thrive?
The State of Michigan no longer requires a physician’s signed prescription for physical therapy. The State allows therapists to perform an evaluation and provide treatment without a prescription for 10 visits in 3 weeks. If we believe treatment will extend beyond this time frame we will need you to visit your doctor. If we believe you should see a doctor prior to the start of treatment we will let you know. Please Read: While the state has allowed direct access to a physical therapist, it may not be covered under insurance. Some insurance companies still require a prescription for physical therapy even after the expansion of direct access. • What is a deductible?
During our insurance verification process we gather as much information from your insurance company as possible. This allows Thrive to educate you on what your insurance covers, and we will always explain this to help anyone understand. A deductible, in general, is the amount the patient will have to pay in total of all medical services, prior to the insurance company paying. We say in general because each plan is different and yours may or may not have a deductible that applies to the physical therapy services. Explaining and educating this information is why our process allows our patients to feel comfortable knowing what their cost liability will be. • What is a co-payment?
During our insurance verification process we gather as much information from your insurance company as possible. This allows Thrive to educate you on what your insurance covers, and we will always explain this to help anyone understand. A co-payment, in general, is the amount the patient will have to pay at the time of each service with Thrive. We say in general because each plan is different and your co-payment may or may not have a deductible that applies to the physical therapy services as well. Explaining and educating this information is why our process allows our patients to feel comfortable knowing what their cost liability will be. • What is a co-insurance?
During our insurance verification process we gather as much information from your insurance company as possible. This allows Thrive to educate you on what your insurance covers, and we will always explain this to help anyone understand. Co-insurance, in general, is the percentage the patient will have to pay at the time of each service with Thrive dictated by your insurance plan. We say in general because each plan is different and your co-insurance may or may not apply before or after your deductible is met. This means the insurance company pays a percentage of the visit and then you pay a percentage of the visit. As an example some plans will have an 80% - 20% split. In this example, the insurance company would pay 80% of the service cost, and you would pay the remaining 20%. Explaining and educating this information is why our process allows our patients to feel comfortable knowing what their cost liability will be. To receive a free insurance verification today call or text 248-733-3885 or email info@thriverehabmi.com *We will need to collect your name, date of birth, insurance card.
  • What is an "Authorization" for therapy?
We understand that every insurance company has a different set of rules specific to your insurance plan. This means that your insurance may dictate you needing an "Authorization". This is different from a prescription. Your medical doctor can write you a prescription to see a physical therapist. However your insurance company decides what they feel is appropriate treatment through authorizations. Once you get your "script", this notifies your insurance company of what the doctor would like you to do. If your insurance requires authorization, the insurance company then dictates how many visits you can get based on their internal statistics in conjunction with our documentation. Some insurance companies will authorize many visits at once, while other insurance companies may only authorize a few visits. We will always do our best to make this process as seamless as possible so there are no interruptions in your care through rigorous documentation.
